Communications Engineer<\/strong> to help architect, integrate, and test the electronic systems at the heart of our robotic platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You&#8217;ll work across traditional engineering boundaries\u2014connecting requirements, electronics, power, sensors, embedded computing, communications, antennas, software, and mechanical hardware into a functioning system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This position is <strong>contingent upon successful SBIR or other government contract award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You&#8217;ll Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and engineering trade studies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and integrate electrical power, computing, sensing, and communications architectures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select and integrate processors, sensors, radios, antennas, batteries, power electronics, and other components.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop wiring diagrams, interface documentation, and electrical schematics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support PCB and custom electronics development where appropriate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop communications architectures for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-ground connectivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluate RF performance, communications range, bandwidth, latency, interference, and link reliability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrate navigation and positioning sensors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform power, link-budget, and system-performance analyses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop system-level verification and validation approaches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct bench, ground, environmental, and field testing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Troubleshoot complex problems spanning hardware, software, communications, and mechanical interfaces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help develop system architecture and technical roadmaps for future products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We&#8217;re Looking For<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding of electrical systems, embedded computing, sensors, and communications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong systems-thinking and troubleshooting abilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience integrating multiple hardware and software components into a working system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to document architectures, interfaces, requirements, and test results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comfortable working directly with test equipment and prototype hardware.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experience with RF systems, antennas, Wi-Fi, cellular, mesh networking, GNSS, embedded Linux, microcontrollers, PCB design, power systems, cybersecurity, systems engineering, UAVs, or robotics is a plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Will Thrive Here<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This role is ideal for someone who naturally asks, <strong>&#8220;How does the whole system work?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re looking for an engineer who can move between a system architecture diagram, an electrical schematic, a communications link analysis, a software interface, and a prototype on the workbench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experience gained through student engineering teams, research laboratories, internships, personal projects, or military service is just as interesting to us as traditional industry experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an early member of the engineering team, you&#8217;ll have substantial influence over the electrical and systems architecture of our first products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> This is a contingent position.
